Intended for large SWRO systems, the hybrid centralization concept combines the best aspects of the three-center design and conventional train configurations.
The HP-HEMI raises the feed pressure to the membrane requirement. Membrane pressure and recovery are precisely controlled by the HP-HEMI regardless of variations in the common feed manifold. Each train can operate at a different pressure and recovery, set by the plant operators for maximum production and/or minimum energy consumption, or to accomodate various states of fouling or membrane characterisitics. It is easy to add or removr trains from production to meet capacity or maintenance requirements without disturbing operating trains. Also, each train is independently controlled; no centralized control is required for train operation.
