Detailed here are standard train configurations - one each of HPP, membrane array, and ERD. Note that all SWRO systems require independent control of the feed and brine stream. The HPB handles the brine stream with its integral variable area nozzle. Also, feed control may be obtained with a VFD or feed throttle control.

Brine recirculation flow is introduced between the HPP and the HPB, thereby saving considerable energy from re-pumping through the HP pump. The HPB provides a feed pressure boost as in the standard configuration.
